Kodocha

Kodomo no Omocha, also known as Child's Toy and Kodocha for short, is a manga series authored by the talented manga-ka Obana Miho. It debuted on August 1994, in the monthly shoujo manga magazine Ribon. It has been animated into an OVA, followed by the anime series.

The story centers around the energetic child actress Kurata Sana, who stars in a popular TV show called Kodocha or Child's Toy (hence the manga's name). A TV star's schedule is without a doubt very busy, and when she makes time for school, she doesn't exactly learn anything, what with Hayama Akito and his monkey goons dictating the class with a nasty piece of blackmail. Sana, who isn't one to get bossed around by anyone, decides to give Akito a taste of his own medicine; but is Akito really all that bad?

Kodocha is the typical "boy meets girl" story, with a few extra quirks added in; Sana's mother with her collection of weird hats, the pet squirrel who takes residency in the hats, the anime's Babbit, and much more. And through it all, we get to see Sana and Akito's relationship blossom and endure many hardships. With loveable and realistic characters, an addicting storyline, and the loveliest artwork, this particular series is not one to be missed.
